About

I am a multimedia artist who creates strange worlds shaped by dreams, nature, and old tales. I work with tattoos, fine art and murals in Dublin.

Working in a surrealist language touched by magical realism, I weave these influences into visual stories that blur reality and myth. My pieces often hold hidden secrets, thresholds where the seen and unseen softly meet, inviting the viewer to step inside and complete the meaning with their own imagination.

Let’s create together!

@ARTBYJROIZ

Thrilled to be part of the group exhibition at @an_chead_tine exploring “What is Truth?”

My piece, called “This is How it Felt”, explores how our own perspective can shape the way we experience life.

During my Psychology degree, students often asked: “What can we do if a person is delirious and we know what they’re saying isn’t true?” One teacher replied: “Focus on the feeling, not the facts”. What we feel is real, even when we’re not sure if the truth really exists.

Thank you @marydoyleburke , @marcodisante_visual_art_______ and @pjoconnellirishartist for selecting my work 🎨

But now I’m curious, how do you interpret my painting? What do YOU feel?

Welcome to your AI-free corner!

Is it only me?
Am I the only one who is TIRED of AI generated content?

I feel like I’m seeing the same thing repeatedly and it makes me want to turn my phone off 😅 actually that’s what I do when I feel like this: I create. I feel the texture of the paper, the mess of the charcoal, I stain my clothes and my face with paint.

The more AI-slop I see the more I want to create what’s meaningful, even if no one will see. When I feel surrounded by bots I do what only humans can do!

I made 48 different drawings and rubbed them off for this video. This is also about letting go.

Little Jessica would be so proud if she knew that I’m developing a stop-motion project 🥹

This one is part of my stop-motion for the Mentored Drawing 2 at @rha.arts and it was a great challenge!

Sangue latino, and in her case, directly from São Luís do Maranhão ❤️

Priscila told me that she becomes more Brazilian after each year outside of Brazil. And I couldn’t agree more, I have the same feeling!

Learning about different cultures can make us understand our own. We can share our knowledge at the same time we learn new things.

With this series of paintings, Saudade on Canvas, I wanted to show a little bit about BraSil, with an S. Our precious memories and shared experiences (many of them also shared with other Latinos).
I wanted to express this bittersweet feeling of SAUDADE, that can be happy, sad, joyful, and make you laugh and cry at the same time.

The originals are now living in her home in Amsterdam, to always remember who we are ❤️ but I also have limited prints available

Happy St. Brigid’s day!

This year I decided to do some rituals to celebrate Imbolc and the end of the darkness of winter!
I mixed painting and embroidery and as I was making collage and I didn’t have straws I made a Brigid’s Cross using paper 😅

I want to mix embroidery with paintings more often, I accept suggestions for future projects 🤭

Do you have any rituals for the coming of spring?

First exhibition of the year! 🎨

At @market_gallery_cork for “Voice of Dreams”, a theme deeply close to my heart.
I love painting dreams and oneiric landscapes, so it feels like a homecoming. This exhibition was truly my moment!

To celebrate, I just had to match my hair to one of my paintings. Added a ship because why not?

Loved a quick chat with @alisonosheaart . We agreed: maybe we seek the surreal because reality can be overwhelmingly hard. Life’s short. We need dreams!

This is how I paint: creating the art I needed when I was younger, when dreams were my sole escape from a heavy reality (okay, it was a dissociative disorder but still). Painting feels like creating memories!

And my outfit is also part of the concept 😅
On my corset 5 frames representing all the exhibitions I’ve been part of and on my skirt empty frames for the next ones. I think I’ll wear special outfits for all the exhibitions, should I? 🌚

What’s the first thing you FEEL when you see this painting?

TOUCH. It’s Art. 🧚‍♀️

I almost gave up on this.

This is the first painting in the series Touching Dreams, where I break the “do not touch” rule of traditional art while repurposing old frames.

I love seeing people’s reactions when I tell that they are allowed to open the door. It’s like they are children again, discovering an inner world!

This art only comes alive when you let curiosity win. When you dare to open the door, you step beyond the surface, into memory, into shadow, into the parts of yourself still waiting to be discovered.

Life is as ephemeral as soap bubbles: shimmering, delicate, gone in an instant if you don’t catch it. Open the door!

What I wish for 2026: more ART!

The classic, the contemporary, the beautiful and the ugly, the simple, the complex, the sacred, the profane, ART!

I want to make art on skin, on murals, on canvases, on my sketchbook, I want to create my own Art, to pay a tribute to other artists, I want even to resignify good art from bad people (I know you know).

And I need you. It won’t be possible without you.

We need to create together, we need to share our thoughts, what we love and what we hate.

We need to FEEL!

Will you come with me?

Do you have any rituals for the holidays?
I do!

And this painting represents them!

I don’t celebrate Christmas in the “normal” way, but I have some rituals for the whole holiday season that include:

· watching old movies (ok, some not thaaat old)
· reading classics. For example, I finished The Picture of Dorian Gray, read The Nutcracker, and started Jane Eyre.
· ice skating
· wearing cosy pyjamas (thank you, @haveanicesoap ) and burning some candles
· painting and crafting

You could say, “But these are all the same things you do the whole year!” And you’re right. Because for my whole life I dreamed about the life I have now, so my “special rituals” are pretty much the same things I already do every day 😅

Fun fact about The Nutcracker: I first saw it when I was a child in a Barbie movie, where I discovered Tchaikovsky, and it shaped my personality. Later, I watched the ballet and was amazed by how beautiful it is! I decided to read the book this year... and I hate it 😅. Well, I like most of it, but I hate the ending. The last 3 pages more specifically. I choose to stick with the Tchaikovsky version and pretend the book’s ending never existed 😌.

What’s your favourite season?

These are my paintings for the Exhibition Solstice Light: Art in Winter!
And this is very special because it mixes real and imaginary places. I was the kind of child people called “away with the fairies,” and I think I never came back 🧚‍♀️
Since moving to Ireland I started organising my life around the Solstices and Equinoxes (and even some sabbats!) the cycles are so important for me here!

“Swim Between Worlds” is how I feel about swimming at the Forty Foot on Christmas Day 😅

“Heart of the Valley” represents Glenmalure Valley, but with my magical touch ✨ Did you notice the little door? 🌚 All my paintings are connected by this door!

“In The Stillness” captures the magical memory I have of the first time I saw a swan. They were so elegant and distinguished, that I imagined them wearing beautiful ribbons. They are so whimsical!

“Solstice over Poolbeg” is the magical way I see winter: I love its colours! The little chubby robins are here to bring the light back ❤️

All these artworks can be seen at @smashingtimes until the 25th of January 2026 ❄️

Happy Winter Solstice!
What’s your favourite season?

These are my paintings for the Exhibition Solstice Light: Art in Winter!
And this is very special because it mixes real and imaginary places. I was the kind of child people called “away with the fairies,” and I think I never came back 🧚‍♀️

What represents Brazil more than football and samba?

Saudade on Canvas is my oil painting series inspired by Brazil ❤️

I represented some saudades, those simple things that makes us happy! I asked people what represents Brazil for them and painted the answers.

I would love to paint more, so give me ideas for the next ones 🇧🇷

Prints are available ❤️ what’s your favourite?

Happy Birthday to me!
And a very merry unbirthday to you 😌

If you told my 13-year-old self that I would be here, living this life, I wouldn’t have believed you. It seemed so distant, so improbable! And now I feel like nothing is impossible. ❤️

When I realise that my creations are part of people’s bodies, homes, and hearts, I understand this is what I was born to do: to make people happy through ART!

Can’t wait for what’s going to happen in 2026 🌚 this is only the beginning!

I have NO WORDS to describe this feeling!

I never thought I could feel so at home like I feel in Ireland.
I feel like there’s magic in every little corner. I love the way the sunlight touches the buildings, I love when I see a fox and I think I’m in the middle of a fairytale. I love the little fairy doors that shaped the way I create my Art. I love to see how different and how similar we are. I love when I receive the kindness of so many people and I am so grateful that I need to give this kindness back, and by doing this we create the real meaning of a community.

Ireland permeates every single work of Art I create! And this is only the beginning, can’t wait to share some great news with you 🌚

Thank you for being part of this dream! 🧚‍♀️
