About

I am a multimedia artist who creates strange worlds shaped by dreams, nature, and old tales. I work with tattoos, fine art and murals in Dublin.

Working in a surrealist language touched by magical realism, I weave these influences into visual stories that blur reality and myth. My pieces often hold hidden secrets, thresholds where the seen and unseen softly meet, inviting the viewer to step inside and complete the meaning with their own imagination.

Let’s create together!

@ARTBYJROIZ

Glen Hansard is her favourite singer. Oh, and she couldn’t believe it when she met him in person!
She had the pleasure of seeing him perform her favourite song a few times.

His songs give her that feeling of being completely understood, like when everything makes sense in the middle of chaos.

He has been part of her best moments (and, to be fair, some sad moments too). This tattoo is only a small tribute to a great person, an amazing singer, whose music makes you feel at home.

But isn’t that the magic of it? that a stranger’s voice can become the soundtrack to your own story, so familiar! Mixing melody and memory, until the notes themselves feel like they were always yours❤️

And I’m here, honoured to be chosen to represent the things that never end!

Now tell me: what would you wear forever on your skin?
A song, a place, a feeling, a poem that saved you?

BARBIE WAS RIGHT!

Little me watching Barbie: “I can be anything.”
Adult me: “Cool, I’ll be a tattoo artist, muralist, painter, sculptor, model, and video creator all at once.” 🤷🏽‍♀️

And what I don’t know yet I’m pretty sure I can learn 😌
I’m not afraid of being a beginner! I’m afraid of not even trying because of perfectionism.

Someone once told me it would confuse people.
But how could I possibly not be everything I can be?

Please, PLEASE tell me I’m not alone!
Anyone else feel like they have too many passions to pick just one?

I’m delighted to share this temporary papercut installation at @irishfilminstitute for the IFI Family Festival!

It was inspired by the beautiful animation @papaya.filme by Priscilla Kellen and I wanted to create the feeling of being hugged by a rainforest, like I felt after watching Papaya 🍃

It’s my biggest papercut project so far and I wanted to make it like I would as a child: with lots of colours and crayons! No fear, just pure joy!

My heart is so full I could burst. If you’re in Dublin, please go feel it for me. Let the paper hold you too.💚

My FIRST solo exhibition!

I grew up losing myself in libraries and now I’m exhibiting my art in one!

Baile means home in Irish and party in Portuguese, and Art is where I invite my dreams to dance!

These works are pieces of my dreams, my memories, my two homes. I paint what I see, people I know, the weird dreams I have, and my ordinary routine that sometimes feels like a fairytale.

The exhibition will be at County Library Tallaght until the 31st of August ✨

Thank you for being part of this! I hope you feel at home ❤️

What’s your favourite 1-9?

I love script tattoos, especially when I can play with words, play with the shapes of the letters, mixing with drawings to amplify their meaning!

And something I’ve never imagined: people actually like my personal handwriting on their tattoos hahahaha

Do you have any script tattoo? Would you get one?

This is Lídia!

I don’t think we ask each other enough about our lives.

When I posted an open call looking for someone to paint, I wasn’t expecting reading so many great stories!

This is @lidiamarinaoficial she started working from the age of 12 receiving 1 real per day. After years studying, working and saving money she came to Ireland for the first time to learn English.
Back in Brasil she started her own business with a tourism agency. And then… she lost everything due to the pandemic.
She came to Ireland again and while working as a cleaner everything changed: she started selling second-hand clothes. And this is how @helenese_oficial began.

Rebuilding her life after losing everything, opening her own shop, and now expecting her first child, Helena ❤️

Spending time painting her reminded me that resilience looks like showing up every day and trying again. And again and again.
Still Becoming 🧚‍♀️

Thank you for letting me tell a small part of your story.

Do you have a tattoo that represents your childhood?

The scent of bonfire smoke and fireworks feels soooo nostalgic!
These cordel tattoos carry the verses I used to read at school, the songs we sang under the June sky, the warmth of neighbors opening their doors to share corn cake, peanuts, canjica and laughter under the stars. São João in the Northeast of Brazil is alive in my chest. It’s the fire I never left behind. Tonight, we wear our roots on the skin. 🔥🌽

First time at the Kilkenny Portrait Show and I’m still floating! 🎨

The opening was a dream! (Even if I was too awkward to ask @salvatoreoflucan for a picture, so I drew him in my recap instead 🤦‍♀️).

My painting “Away with the Fairies” is up on the walls of Gallery @an_chead_tine . It’s the physical manifestation of my creative block, that moment when you want to start something but your brain is so overwhelmed it’s impossible to choose one idea.

I dressed for the occasion too! Little frames attached to my skirt and corset, and a teeny tiny plastic chair in my hair (just like the one in the painting)! 🪑💫

Thanks to @marydoyleburkecurator for the incredible curation.

🚨 CAT IN THE END 🚨

Romania through my eyes ❤️

I arrived in Târgu Jiu not knowing what to expect!
Huge thanks to Euroreach for inviting me to collaborate on a cyber awareness game project, ESCAP(E+)

After brainstorming sessions I made it my mission to explore every bit of local history I could!

There’s something magical about walking the same streets as centuries of storytellers, visiting artists places. And I’m in love with the architecture! Perfect for urban sketching 😌

So grateful for this mix of tech, travel, and tradition.
Have you ever visited Romania? What’s your favourite city?🇷🇴

✨Glow up✨🧚‍♀️

One of my favourite things about tattooing is recreating old pieces, it’s like revisiting a version of you that is worthy remembering ❤️

Our lives can change a lot in 5, 10, 15, 20 years but a tattoo glow up is a way to say “hi” to our past selves, like a hug 😌

Do you have a tattoo that deserves a glow up?

Do you already have a creative hobby?

Everytime I feel drained from screen scrolling I reach for analog handmade. I’ve found collage the best way to create even when I am low in energy. There’s less pressure on doing something “right” because even the mistakes can create interesting results!

I went to @thismustbetheplacedublin to have a great time making collage and it was so fun 🥹

And a special shout-out to my skateboarder cat who made it onto the collage!

What is HOME for you?

For me, home lives in our dreams, our memories, our shared stories, in the way we talk, in where we find our peace.

It’s not fixed. Not unchanged.

Home moves with us. It merges with our own self.

This is what I explored in this art research!

I also expanded the question to the skin, exploring the body as both surface and site of meaning. Bringing tattoos inside academic spaces. Making it be seen as ART!

The people I tattoo are my collectors. They carry pieces of art on their skins and hearts. Thank you @julianafranzao and @analupcosta1 ❤️

What’s your favourite piece of the flagbook?

What’s your favourite piece of the flagbook?
